Greater Mission was founded by people who worked as lead staff for dioceses, serving bishops and pastors from the inside.

Tom Sonni was called to direct stewardship and development for the Diocese of Harrisburg, and then the Archdiocese of Baltimore over a seventeen-year span. Co-owner Tony Gwiazdowski spent nineteen years leading the same work for the Diocese of Providence. Other Co-Partners at Greater Mission carry similar history. Working for the Church and its greater mission is who we have always been, and how we will always serve.

Why Parishes are Primary

We believe that dioceses are only as strong as their parishes. Parishes are where God’s people receive Jesus on Sundays, where they experience caring community, where they grow in faith, and where they are sent as missionary disciples to serve, to witness, and to carry the love of Christ to the world. That is why serving parishes is our greatest mission.

The Growth Mandate

The Great Commandment and the Great Commission are the mandate for the Church. Love God. Love Others. Go and Make Disciples. Until Christ returns and the Kingdom comes, the mission will never stop. The Church cannot stand still. Every parish is either growing or slowing in fulfilling its mission mandate. There is no room for complacency.
