Greater Mission welcomes Jim O’Connor to team

Greater Mission is proud to welcome Jim O’Connor to our team.

Jim is an experienced fundraiser with a proven track record of creating innovative capital campaign strategies resulting in consistently meeting or exceeding goals. He has over 35 years of executive management experience within both the fundraising and financial technology industries for several prominent organizations. Additionally, Jim has extensive involvement serving the Catholic Church as both a professional and volunteer. His commitment to working closely with clients, colleagues and volunteers with a firm commitment to strategic planning and execution has been a hallmark of his business career and philanthropic endeavors.

As a devoted Catholic, Jim comes to Greater Mission following a successful tenure as U.S. Executive Director of Development for St. Patrick’s College, Maynooth, Ireland’s sole Catholic seminary and Pontifical University. His professional fundraising career includes Campaign Director for CCS Fundraising, where his experience focused on Catholic diocesan and parish campaigns, and Regional Director and Major Gifts Officer for The Irelands Funds of America. Jim is very visible in the Catholic community serving St. Theresa of the Child Jesus parish in Attleboro, MA as lector and officer on the finance and pro-life committees as well as co-chairing the We Miss You campaign to help fallen away parishioners to re-engage with the faith community. Additionally, he helped establish Abundant Hope Crisis Pregnancy Center which offers life-affirming medical and spiritual counselling and support to those who are experiencing unplanned pregnancies as part of the Attleboro, MA Deanery’s pro-life efforts. Jim is on the leadership committee of the Deanery’s Men’s Spirituality Group which consists of thirteen parishes and the local Catholic high school. He is a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus having served in multiple roles including Grand Knight.

Jim received a four-year scholarship to St. John’s University earning a Bachelor of Science Degree and earned a certificate from the M.I.T. Sloan School in Artificial Intelligence and Business Application. Jim is married and father to his 18-year-old son.
