“Half of American Catholics leave the church at some point in their life.”

A recent video from the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, entitled “Outreach to the Unaffiliated,” tackles this and other tough truths.

The fact that young people are leaving the Church is also a large part of the discussion. According to the Pew Research Center, more than one-third of young millennials identify as having no religious affiliation.

Seeking to understand these “nones” should be a top priority of the Church, according to the video, along with who they are, why they’re leaving, and how to get them back.
