DIOCESAN CAMPAIGNS

A Greater Mission Diocesan Campaign focuses not just on the significant needs and monetary goals but on the fullest participation possible among parishioners. We work to increase the partnership between the diocesan team and pastors and parishioners. We work to involve the diocesan development team as day-to-day partners in the work of the campaign and to develop with them long term strategies to take advantage of raised giving sights, deepened relationships and legacy giving opportunities.

“… I was very pleased with the service provided by Greater Mission … they really helped to change the culture of our diocese.”

Most Reverend Earl Boyea
Bishop of Lansing

A Greater Mission led diocesan campaign used Constituent Research and Rating down to the parish level, including local giving data, Greater Mission’s own metrics, which provide for a targeted “deeper dive” for prospects with the greater potential for significant gifts and the development of a long-term strategic process for enhanced development at both the diocesan and parish level.

Our parish waves include fewer parishes and a longer timetable to provide a greater level of service from the campaign directors. Parish campaign literature is developed and designed to be personalized to each parish. All campaign solicitation materials are personalized for each family in the parish. We do not use peer-to-peer solicitation, utilizing the pastors to reach out to key parishioners and to ask all parishioners to support the campaign at a variety of gatherings during the campaign. The solicitation process is best characterized as prayerful, private and confidential.  We ask parishioners to discern their gift through prayer and allow the Holy Spirit to guide their “decision of faith” forming a personal “best sacrifice.”

Decision of Faith

The Greater Mission approach believes that there is an important aspect of ministry in the approach to inspiring and inviting faith-filled generosity. Each family member is asked to make their own Decision of Faith based on three key principles:

Our philosophy is that the campaign should not only raise money for ministry, but it should also teach and inspire faith-filled generosity. This brings blessing to the givers and the Church, and it leads to future generosity as the mission is continually advanced in the future.
