The Magi came bearing gifts for the long-awaited child who was the newborn King over all that has ever existed and ever would exist. God had no use for their gifts, but giving them was a way to express their homage to Jesus. God doesn’t want worldly gifts of great value from us. God wants our hearts if we will give them to him. May we reverently seek his sacred presence in our midst and bow down in homage before him. Then, we will know the blessing of newfound joy.
