“After Jesus was baptized, he came up from the water and behold, the heavens were opened for him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming upon him. And a voice came from the heavens, saying, ”This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”
Jesus goes before us in all the most important ways. In our own baptism, the same Holy Spirit descended upon us. We too became beloved sons and daughters of our heavenly Father. Every time we call on the Holy Spirit to come fully into our hearts, we relive our baptismal moment, we reclaim our deepest identity as members of God’s holy family, and we recommit to our part in fulfilling the sacred mission of the Church.

That we may frequently invite the indwelling of the Holy Spirit as God’s beloved sons and daughters who have been called into mission as the Church from the moment of our own Baptism…
