“The Word of God became flesh and dwelt among us. To those who accepted him, he gave power to become children of God.”
The Alleluia Verse this Sunday is powerful. To those who accepted him… There is a clear condition. We need to accept Jesus. He gave power… It is not on our own genius or strength or determination that we can enter into this sacred adoption as God’s children. It is only by God’s empowering us. What greater honor could we realize in our lives than to be children of God? By it, we gain a nature beyond human that is truly Divine.
Petition:
That we may accept Jesus fully and be given power to become children of God…
