You Too Go
Going out about five o’clock, he found others standing around, and said to them, ‘Why do you stand here idle all day?’ They answered, ‘because no one has hired us.’ He said to them, ‘You too go into my vineyard.” (Mt 20:6-7)
The readings this Sunday call us to recognize God’s call on our lives. In the Lord’s graciousness and generosity, it is never too late to hear his words to go into his vineyard (the world) and bear fruit by our labor and our love. In the first chapter of his letter to the Philippians, St. Paul radically models what that looks like – ‘Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or death. For to me life is Christ, and death is gain. Only, conduct yourself in a way worthy of the gospel of Christ.’
Petition:
That we may conduct ourselves in a way worthy of the Gospel, we pray to the Lord..
